WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
Whenever you are focused on your feelings, you are in hypnosis. The AMA, in 1958, described hypnosis as “focused attention and the bypass of the critical factor.” The conscious mind thinks; it does not feel. The subconscious mind feels; it does not think. When you bypass the critical filtering mechanism, the subconscious mind will receive information that you will find helpful, and it will also retrieve and release information that isn’t available to you in a conscious state.
WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION?
You're welcomed into a safe, cozy environment where I devote as much time as needed to learn about you and to answer your questions about hypnosis, so that you are completely comfortable before beginning hypnosis.
I use a variety of modalities including Age-Regression to the origin of negative patterns and the release of stuck emotions, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Focusing, NLP, and other techniques to help you quickly and easily move through the blocks to your success and achieve peace of mind. Often you will get a personalized CD with soothing background music to give you ongoing support between sessions. You will also get self-hypnosis homework to help you achieve your goals more quickly.
WILL I LOSE CONTROL?
No, you are always in control and cannot be hypnotized without your permission. You cannot be made to say or do or feel anything under hypnosis that you don't want to.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN UNDER HYPNOSIS?
Under hypnosis you will be guided to focus inward and enter a state of deep concentration on thoughts or feelings of your choosing. You are not asleep but are so deeply focused that emotional release and healing can take place. The end result is a feeling of relaxation and peace.
IS IT SAFE?
Hypnotherapy is quick, effective and safe. No one has ever gotten stuck in hypnosis, although the experience feels so good that many people have said they wished they didn't have to come back!
WHAT IF I CAN'T BE HYPNOTIZED?
Anyone with normal intelligence and the ability to concentrate can be hypnotized. It is a natural state that people experience everyday when driving, reading, watching a movie, or doing any activity that engrosses you so fully that you become unaware of outside stimuli.
I HAVE GREAT WILL POWER IN OTHER AREAS OF MY LIFE...WHY CAN'T I STOP SMOKING (OVEREATING/BEING AFRAID TO SPEAK IN PUBLIC/GET OVER MY ANXIETY, ETC.)?
Will power works when the logic of your conscious mind and the deep intention of your subconscious mind are in agreement. But in a power of wills between the conscious and subconscious, the imagination of the subconscious will always win out over the logic of the conscious mind. During hypnosis you will bring the subconscious into agreement with your conscious intent.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Some problems can be solved in as little as two sessions. Most take longer, generally 4-8 sessions.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Prices are based on the type of treatment desired and will be discussed at the time of the initial complimentary telephone consultation.
IS HYPNOSIS COVERED BY MY INSURANCE?
Most insurance plans do not cover hypnosis. However, check with your accountant on whether any of these charges may be tax deductible.
HOW ARE HYPNOTISTS CERTIFIED?
Hypnotists are certified by specialized schools . They are not licensed by the state of California as alternative health care practitioners. I hold certifications from various hypnosis-training centers and I abide by the strict standards set forth by the National Guild of Hypnotists.
